The highest return for the effort of any test here. A fixed mindset explains giving up quickly and refusing hard tasks — and it can change within weeks by adjusting the teacher's language.

Before administering
Confirm that you want the student's real opinion, not the "right" answer, and that the answer will not affect their grade.
Its limits
Sensitive to the socially desirable answer — the student knows the "right" answer. Read it together with classroom observation.
