What it measures
Explains something every teacher sees today: a student sits down for two hours to study and comes out with twenty minutes of it. The problem is in the quality of the time, not in its amount.
How to read the result
Array
Before administering
Present it as a tool that helps the student win their time back, not as a reckoning over the phone. Honesty here is the condition for it being any use.
Its limits
This is a study-habits scale. It does not diagnose "addiction" and it does not diagnose a health condition, and the alertness item measures the effect of late nights on lessons, not sleep disorders.
Its dimensions
- Notification DistractionWhen high: Their concentration breaks with every notification.
- MultitaskingWhen high: They revise while moving between screens and conversations at the same time.
- Controlling UseWhen high: They control their device time and put it off until they have finished their homework.
- Late-Night AlertnessWhen high: They sleep enough and come to the first lessons focused.
